    NPN (Urea) vs. Natural Tubs

Convenience of feeding puts alfalfa a ways down on the list when it comes to protein for lots of people.

    NPN (Urea) vs. Natural Tubs

Can feed an awful lot of hay grinding and mixing that cows would otherwise not either not be able to eat (higher nitrate) or just not want to eat (rained on to mature whatever else you want to put in here). This year we are feeding some feed that is 14% protein but right at the top of safe to...

    NPN (Urea) vs. Natural Tubs

We picked up a roto grind last year that was like three years old don't think it ground more than a dozen bales. It's not as fast as a hay buster but was less than half price of a new roto grind and we always have a big tractor around to run it. Also nice you can grind when you want. If the wind...

Dang that's high. How many tons can they do an hour?

    NPN (Urea) vs. Natural Tubs

Crystalix has the most even consumption and their product is always the same in my findings. Tried some mls tubs this year but they ate more than they should of. We feed the natural 27 when we do need a tub from crystalix. The bio barrel will be gone before the lick part will be. They kind of...

    Ralgro and bulls?

Is this guy selling these Bulls? I have been told was a big no no. If he's saving for himself what's the point of getting them growing as fast as they can?

John Haringtons take on beef markets

How come all these articles say how bad second half of 2015 is for feeders but they don't ever say how they made $300-$500 a head pretty much all of 2014 and 2013? Sure is a lot of whining going on about the cattle market lately. Prices now are still better than they were 5 years ago. Can't say...

Bull elk on our meadow, November 3, 2015

There were a couple spotted down here by multiple people this summer. I have never seen one here but they would have it made in the summer with all the crops to hide in.

    Bull Lease

I just read an article on the dtn said 1400-1700. They were talking about spring time lease but not sure that matters.

    Cattle oilers fly control

We have one clews palliser oiler. It work good for the cattle that use it. Not sure if some don't like to rub it are to dumb or just don't get a turn and don't want to be left behind when everyone goes back out to eat. We give ours a few pellets and then spray them when flys get bad.

don't think there any for sale yet

Also they have had smaller driverless tractors for quite a while. I saw an article about them spraying pesticides in orchards a good 8-10 years ago.

don't think there any for sale yet

That tractor would have less compaction than a 100 hp tractor. First because of the tracks, less weight per surface area of ground. Second because the bigger the equipment the less passes to get a field done.

don't think there any for sale yet

I'm not sure how those would work. What would make me hesitant would be if you had a bearing go out how would you know from computer. That is until you drove around and saw big piles at each end of field from dragging.

    Pharo Bulls

I went to the pharo website as this kind of got my interest I hadn't been there for a long time. Once I was thinking about buying a bull there. First thing you see when you open page is flashing "Buy your bulls from someone who raises cattle the way you ought to". That's the way to...

    Pharo Bulls

Yes I believe so. I have been wanting to on a pivot that I own for a few years now. But with crop prices really couldn't justify it. Now I am going to next year I hope with my rotation. I don't really need the grazing this year and will sell most of the feed. Also one land owner doesn't...

    cow / calf pairs

In Salina it has cost right at $72 a pair for last few years including bringing them down day before and feed one day. Their cow sales must be some sort of flat fee as the prices have been lots different.

    Pharo Bulls

I read all the time how the only way to be profitable is to graze all year long. Here grass rent goes from 300 a pair up to I know of a guy that bid 360 a pair silent bid deal for summer grazing and didn't get it. That is for 5-6 months grazing. Now I have some irrigation that will be lucky...
