Yikes!!! Where are you? That is not good. Sorry don't know about the ewe, with down cows we use a hip lift and pick them up at least twice a day, keeps the blood flowing.
Long time no post :) Mike's old dog Cotton was a McNabb and was awesome. The family we got him from used to live on the McNabb ranch and that is where they got their dogs. They were less 'busy' than alot of Border collies but the working ability was the same. The ones I see on FB don't look...
We just did it with a month old calf put onto a cow who lost a 2 month old calf. Had to hobble her but easier than suckling twice a day. The love each other now. We never skin the calf. The powder is O No More. Milk replacer works sometimes too.
Yeah, that was not good. They also killed 3 weaned calves and wounded another in a lot next to another neighbor's house. Thankfully they have been quiet since then.

Really high, yrlgs averaged $8,200 something, 2 yr olds in the $7,000's. Black bulls (even they are dabbling in the dark side) around $8,000. Horses averaged $14,000. It was Harrell's, used to be straight horned now have quite a few...
I'm just glad they didn't leave the country when they spooked. Alot of work to have to dump them in pens. Glad it turned out well, nice to have them gone.
