    cow / calf pairs

The market for Hereford females is out of this world. You'd be stark raving mad to sell them at a salebarn. Use the cattle range or one of the Facebook pages and the young pairs should be worth at least 3500 on up if they are decent.

Letter to Independent Cattlemen of Nebraska

I can't figure out our good friends on the Great Plains to the north of me. Nebraska and Kansas seem so conservative and level headed but look what Nebraska gave us with Nelson and now look at all the wringing of hands in Kansas politics. What gives?

Customers calves sold on Superiors Country Page

Ya'll have a good evening. I've gotta call it a night. I'd love to make it north sometime but with work and kids I just don't see it in the next few years. I made it as far north as Yellowstone as a two year old. Kinda fuzzy on the details though.

And do they just keep getting better and better the farther north you go? Artic cattle anyone?

But i must ask then, are North Dakota cattle worth more than Nebraska cattle then? Or at least worth more than Kansas cattle? Would Northern Montana cattle like Ace's (his Angus not his Herefords cause we all know Herefords suck) be as much better than a Kansas Angus than that Kansas Angus is...

Also since these northern cattle eat so much, in periods when feedyards are losing money due to high feed costs, should southern cattle be worth more since they eat less? At least Jake had a reasonable thought out answer. And I do understand that the "typical" southern salebarn calf may have...

That's hilarious so where is the Lake Wobegon line. The line where all cattle born north of it are "above average"??????? Inquiring minds would like to know. This information could be crucial to cattle growers and order buyers everywhere. Does the Lake Wobegon effect take hold if I ship my...

These cattle were straight angus. generations of the same AI sires you guys are using. The 'northern cattle are better' deal is a sham. Just a trick to get the cattle bought cheaper and it works. This guy is older than me and has bought hook line and sinker into the Angus deal and AI's to...

You guys enjoy that "northern premium". I had a friend just sell some 695 steers here and they brought 1.89 He was happy. Amazing how much more ya'll get for the cattle up there.

    Forage Raised Red Angus Bulls

It can certainly shorten the useful life of a bull. More apt to get infected. Especially when in tall grass with seed heads or even in dusty/sandy pasture. Lots of pathogens in dust/sand/soil. With what bulls cost these days, I'd sure like to get my money's worth

    Forage Raised Red Angus Bulls

How does the EPD work? The higher the epd the more the pecker hangs out and a negative epd means just the head hangs out???

    Forage Raised Red Angus Bulls

My question is, and it is semi-rhetorical since the record bears out that it really must not matter at all since Angus/Red Angus are so popular, but does it not bother anybody to see Angus after Angus after Angus strutting around with those lazy ass peckers? How come that defect has become so...

    Replacment heifers

Really interesting times we live in. I can't believe the prices ya'll get on cattle up there. Truly astounding. Those cattle would have brought $1.55 tops here. $948 per head. Seems like someone would arbitrage these markets, but I guess we still suffer from a PERCEPTION problem down here...
