    Turn out time?

    I wondered if anyone would change thier turnout date because of this years weather?I turnout July 4 and I'm thinking of waiting a few more days.I bought cows that started in late March and took an 18% daeth loss on them.Havent lost any out of the ones bred for April but it can happen.

    I found out my cows couldnt read so I quit tagging the calves.The cows still seem to know thier calves and I dont get run over. :D :wink: The machine I want to see in action is the one you atach to the side of the 4 wheeler.

    I have learn't that lesson twice myself.Start early with wonder drug and use it at regular intervals according to label directions.My favarite wonderdrug only costs 20$ a dose to cure a 500lb calf of shipping fever.

    More on scours in late spring calves

    In my expereince, the worst scour problems came in a drought. I have never used scour guard. I treat with electrolytes and antibiotic, and it worked well for me. Dehydration is the biggest killer.
