Some pics from the last 2 weeks...

A lot better than the 12" of snow in October. The grain guys were pretty stressed out for September/October. We had more rain in 48 hours in September than we had all year. Had some greenfeed down for 6 weeks. Crazy fall.

Some pics from the last 2 weeks...

We pulled cows off 1000 acre pasture we just started renting last year... Dad is 81 and decided he wanted to ride. He put 15+ miles on that day, but left the big riding for me. Hard to believe how much 2 horses saves. A few days this summer I put on 30+ miles when I was alone. The next day we...

Pictures from late March through mid April of 2018

Great pics. I suspect that the "digging out" and being out on the ranch is even better therapy than the dogs. Good luck with the recovery. Although I am sure it is good to know things are capably handled at home, you must be a bit nervous that you will be looking for work soon.

Some pics and maybe a video or two...

These oats are a cover crop over some new alfalfa. I debated cutting them, but it was wet and I didn't want to leave the swaths laying on the alfalfa for weeks waiting for it to dry. We have swath grazed a lot in the past and it is a great way to winter feed. We have moved more to standing...

    A few Juneish pics

Destinee with her 4-H calf - He was a June born calf whose mother died last summer, and the only calf we had weaned by weigh day. He more than doubled his weight. The most important thing was that she did all the work herself. An Owlet Jerusalem Artichoke Harvesting Not all by hand...

I like that your outfit has the extra grandchildren (soon to be gate getter) seating. How do you like the gas vs the diesel for feeding?

A long time, so a few pics

I don't know if we have a site like that here, but our area is generally deficient in Se. We did not pull blood samples, but did livers on all of our post mortems. We actually have a pretty strong mineral program and everything checked out OK. We did have some low levels of Vit E in one of...

A long time, so a few pics

Silver, we have a few theories. The cocci definitely opened the door for some other stuff to emerge, although some of the diseases that came through on calves that were vaccinated and boostered for the specific bug (eg: Mannheimia). The other thing we have been working through is whether...
