my rank is 192nd most posts on this site out of 2155 members. Acually, was suprised it was that high.

Oldtimer pretty much "blows" away the competition with roughly 4000 more posts than his closest competitor sandhusker. :P

I guess I just found that amusing

Wusses. It takes real commitment to be in the TOP 10.

Five of the top 16 hardly post here anymore. Reader the 2nd has been gone for 18 months. Jinglebob, katrina , Sh and Econ 101 don't post anymore. :?

Whats really hard to believe is it will be 4 years since Macon stuck on this new forum when everyone had to log in.... Time flys....

that was weird. I had a total of 192 posts and it was also the 192nd ranking when I first looked at all this.

kind of like the only time I ever look at the odometer in a vehicle it is just rolling by some milemark like "100,000" etc or when driving my parents new vehicle a year ago I switched the odometer from trip A over to total miles and what number was it, 3 sixes. I about shat myself. What does stuff like that mean.

you guys probably don't get what I am trying to say but it seems weird... stuff like that happens to me all the time. :?

Tell us about the old days, was it a better forum? It was before I discovered Ranchers. :-)

The old one was pretty wild on the Bull Sessions-- with continuing arguments going on for years...And without having to sign in- many folks used multiple different names...I sometimes think ones like the old ~SH~ used to use other handles to argue with himself when their wasn't anyone around to do it....

Lot of the old ones like ~SH~, rancher, Katrina, cert, Bev from West Dakota, Jinglebob, etc. etc.- not on the new site much...

This new site (which being an old fogie I didn't think I'd like) offers so many more advantages--#1 being that you can post all those great photos....
And Macon has pretty much got the automatic porno poster problem solved with this new site...Used to be at night they'd go nuts and fill the site with links to porn sites or pill advertisements....

That brings about a question. How did everyone first stumble on to this forum? If you typed something into a search engine that led you to this site what was your search or whatever brought you to ranchers.

Mine... I was trying to research the diluter gene and had typed "diluter gene" into google and found a link to a rancher's.net page talking about it.

Thought you were talking about the weather when I first saw your post.

Saw it posted on cattletoday.com; found cattletoday when we were losing so many bred cows and aborted calves and things weren't adding up. We were desperate, turned out that we had pasturella in our herd. Changed vaccination program.

My favorite part of this site is seeing pictures of different places and cattle, and visiting with others on how and why they manage the way they do. The discussions truly are a tremendous resource :D .

I found this site right after I got an internet connection (only have a cell phone, and just discovered satellite internet) during a google search on ranching :-) . It's funny since I'm more of a neighbor with you all than I am with my own neighbors... just not as customary to visit with the neighbors about your issues much I guess, and most neighbors are of the 40 acre variety :-) .

...And lets face it, most of us are pretty reclusive, and we can control the internet visiting, gotta love the off button when we've had enough!
