New Years Day is about over. Wasn't that long ago it was 01, now it is 11! We talk about time flying or dragging, but truth is it just plods along at the same speed. We can't speed it up or slow it down or stop it. We will spend it. "Spend time"--What a descriptive phrase. Will we spend it for something worthwhile? I am planning on being a pallbearer next Tuesday for one whose time has run out. All of us will reach that place. What will folks be saying about you? "Wonder who will get the place?, or perhaps "I would sure like to get hold of his tractor or pickup or you fill in the blank. I hope folks will say of me that He always made me feel loved, or he encouraged me at a low point in my life, or He is the one who led me to the Lord. They say you can't take it with you, but there is one thing we can take with us. The soul of our family, friends and neighbors can go with us if they know the Savior. That surely must be what He means when He says we should walk circumspectly (alertly), redeeming the time. Have a good Sunday mornin' and a truly prosperous 2011.

Thanks, Shortgrass, for a great post with which to start the New Year. It seems like there is never a U-Haul trailer hooked up behind a hearse. When we kick the bucket, all the monopoly pieces go back in the box. Happy New Year to you and yours, and to everyone else on Ranchers.net.

Soap, I guess I was replying to your post while you were replying to mine. I would like to say thanks to you & Peach for living your faith in such a way as to be an encouragement to lots of us.

Peach is a wonderful Christian lady. I'd like to coast into Heaven hanging onto her coat tails, but that isn't the way it works. We each need to make our peace with the Good Lord, and accept Him as our saviour, all by ourselves.
