Hello Everyone-
I am a smart, physically healthy, strong woman from New England looking to work on a ranch. I like to cook, very much and thought that might be the best place to start. I figure it would probably be some of the hardest work I have ever done-but that hasn't sacred me any in the past.
Someone told me there were people up in Canada, looking for cooks?
At this time-I'm open to whatever is available-I don't have a big ego-just a great love for the outdoors and an eagerness to learn.
Any suggestions, I would be most grateful to hear from you.
I have my own transportation and this is an earnest request.

Thank you all.

Heck, with a post like that, you better be careful, you might just find yourself a husband!

I wish you well in your search! :D

If you do have a fishing boat, don't be tempted by Mike, he's got alligators, he's trying to tame, and put an ID tag in!

Deergirl, do you hunt? How bout a hunting camp. I know it would be seasonal, but it's a start!

Hey gang-thanks much for the leads and the good humor!!
Again- I'm not sure if this is how one replies on this here forum.
I will give the small cow calf farm in KS some thought and email you for more info.
Not a hunter, sorry.
You all sure are putting a big smile on my face-thanks much and I am really serious about working.
Okay-I'm back on the road for today-in a very pretty little town, Buffalo,WY.
"West is best!" for sure.
Thanks much,
Deergirl

Hey Deergirl, Don't discount Kansas....the Flint Hills are as good a grazing country as there is anywhere and the winters are not quite so cold as further north. Sure beats the heck out of eartagging alligators!!

Well, Mike, you can get kicked tagging cattle but I've never heard of anyone losing an arm doing it. Do alligators really have ears??!!!!!!!!!!!

Easy isn't that bad !!

We don't really tag them. We put the RFID boluses in them.

Deergirl: Catch the next ride to alabama if you can roll hay or roll in the hay either way works for me. Consider yourself hired.

Good Morning all you Ranchers:
I thank all of you who have taken me seriously and sent some numbers and info my way.
To the rest, thanks for your laughs.
I have an interview with a rancher today, a female rancher at that!
So wish me luck!
