Few years back,a rancher here picked up a calf to take in,and the cow took him,and the 4-wheeler down.He wound up in Hosp with a big cow hoof shaped bruse on his chest,some head trama,broken ribs~~
He is ok now,cow is gone..

The main reason he got a ride was when we opened the gate they were off at a dead run after that millet bale, I'm sure momma would have come back for him after she got her belly full, but at the time thats all she was interested in.

I really don't care for over protective cows so we cull for temperment 1st, but I still don't trust any of them any farther than I could throw them, when tagging the calves.

Here is a picture of my brother and our newest batch of heifers that we just turned out into the pasture a couple weeks ago.
