And of course the 1 heifer that is close to calving decided it was time. No problems, other than the cold. She had it on her own, it got up without help and found dinner. She followed the milk cow into the barn this morning, and we decided to leave her in. Kinda thought she might be calving, but we weren't too sure. But when DH went out at 2:00 pm the heifer was just getting to her feet. 2 hours later, this is what(you hope) a baby looks like when it is -23 plus a severe windchill outside.....
And, since her ears were getting a bit crispy, she got some fancy new headgear....
And, yes, it is snowing inside the barn. Ours isn't that airtight, and with the wind it snows inside too....
