Our 4H club gets together and we wash and clip all the calves together-here's our wee little show string-I imagine we'll get buried but the kids have fun. The best calf we did yesterday was a grey smoke SimmX in my opinion. I'll get his pic up later.

We hafta wash n clip Lil Lilly's show goat soon. The ag advisor wants to swing by and weigh her, and I'm hopin he brings his clippers when he comes. Fair is a lil over a month away...but it's warmin up now, and any heat will make it hard for her goat to maintain weight. So I wanna get her clipped now....then do a touch up before the fair.

My nephews had their first go at being steer jocks last weekend placing 3-4-5 in their group, with the youngest showing the best. That caused a little bit of sibling rivalry!
Any little bit of green grass around here has that blue, frosted look.
My wife left me for the Kentucky Derby. She says it's a beautiful 85 there today.
I see your man Eric Roy got picked in the first round of the bantam draft by Brandon.
He sure won't play for McCrimmond if he doesn't work hard and play tough.

Good for him-it's pretty big deal in Meadow lake when the school announces you've been drafted over the intercom-I usually just got summons to principals office. any word on Jared Iron or Austin RedIron I'm sure they'll go too. We haven't had a first rounder since Dwight King. I think Jeff Friesen was the obnly Meadow Laker to go in first round of NHL draft. I only got to coach Eric one game-we called him up last year but he's a good one. He'll remind Brandon of Aulie with his skating and puck handling. Where did you find the draft results? Not too many kids come out of Meadow Lake that aren't tough-we sacrifice the weak to volleyball and basketball lol.

Only you crazy Canadians could take a post about 4H steers and "steer" it into Hockey drafts! :D Nice calves! Can they skate? Bet they throw a mean cross-check!

I was surprised Rediron didn't get picked. He could sure win a game for you, but I guess didn't win enough. A better tender than some that did go, IMHO.
The bantam draft misses more than a few. I think there were 3 on the world junior team that weren't picked.
My nephew also went to Brandon. They will like him. A good hard working farm boy. They asked if he played any other sports. He said he didn't have time, as there were always chores to help with!
You should probably be buying your steer calves for 4 H if you feel the need to compete. If you sold about 5 or 6 top cut steers in the fall you could buy one of those straight legged puff balls and move up a couple of spots. Teach your kids how to win!

Ohh my kids have won the female deal-yearling heifer and cow/calf pair a few times. I'm not too concerned that our May/June steers have a bit of trouble in the fed calf thing. I saw they quit picking in the mid8th round-it that was the case witrh the 89's another good Meadow Lake D-man wouldn't of got drafted he's played three years in Red Deer so far. New rink coming in Meadow Lake so the factory should churn out a few more-we do pretty good on four hours of ice time a month.
