BMR what kind of colts or color do you get out of that buckskin. We have a quarter horse colt that is a buckskin got good blood in his breeding. We have been trying to decide to cut or not to cut.

One I would hate to cut a good stud horse two i have heard or read that its best to wait about cutting as it will allow for more muscling. Is there any truth to that?

Any demand for buckskin studs with good blood lines?

As far a color goes that "black" filly is a full sister to the palamino that was working cows on her own in another thread.

I don't think there is much demand for anything but well broke geldings. Check out your local horse market but a good stud can make a great gelding.

PF, it's my opinion that the world has too many studs now...too many
horses period and the market is in the tank.

I'd cut that colt and I'd do it before he got very old.
If you want muscle in the front, leave him as a stud,
if you want muscle in the rear, cut him early.
Anyway, that's what I've been told for years.

And a stud that has bred a mare has a whole different attitude
the rest of his life. We'd never, ever buy another horse that had
bred a mare and then was cut. Did it once, wouldn't do it again.
FWIW...

Lets see what the fellas that raise horses tell ya...

BMR, those ponies are in great shape... :D
