The verdict on our new chute is in as well...
Because it is closer to the barn than our old one, I need to move the west side alley in (narrower). I need my sorting pens that we knocked out back in order ASAP when I get construction time. I need to solidify the gate on my bud box (which we knew and have planned for). Double alley is very good, rolling gates are way better than the old post/pipe act, the long alley is better than our old one for vaccinating, and the headgate on the squeeze is FAN-Freaking-Tastic! I have always been a professed self-catch guy, but the headgate with the control at the back of the chute makes me think I may need to find a reason to catch every cow. I even tested it on a horned cow of the neighbour's with grand results (still think I will stick to polled bulls).

Wow, it sure is looking green out your way!

Nice to have a processing system that makes things go better and easier.

We have been fortunate to have had over 15" in June/July.

The nicest part is the "safer" aspect when you have kids and neighbours around.

Things are really looking good there!! 15" is WAY over our annual precipitation! I'm still waiting for more pictures of your bud box, and the gates going to the alleyways and loading chute (Please :) ) Glad you are happy with new stuff.

Nicky,

I will get the pics. We are actually in the process of building all that stuff, as we have ripped it all out and are replacing the works. Seems like corrals only last about 40 to 60 years around here.
The sorting was a real chore this time around as our regular sorting corrals are out of commission. As of right now there are no gates to much of anything.

Thanks! BTW I think you should frame the pic of your kids and the church. That is such a neat shot.
