We went the route of pipe and sucker rod corrals a couple years back. Sure beats the heck outta puttin up new boards ever time ya turn around.

I don't know so much about paintin it white tho. LOL....I'd get tired of paintin it. Looks real nice tho.

I too wish it would rain enuff that they would lift the burn ban. We got so much left over hurricane piles....and then we've built alot of new fences this year....we need to burn all that stuff.

Long life. Nice corrals. I think your tongue would stick to the pipes further north.

Nice work! How did you set your posts...concrete or just drove into the ground? and if so how deep?

I just set the line pipe in the ground 4 feet and the gate pipe about 6 feet. If you concrete pipe the acid in the concrete will eat the metal in about 4-5 years. So set them using water and it tightened up pretty good.

That's good to know, thanks.

But isn't that in area's that are wet? in dry country I wouldn't think it's make much difference if you cemented stuff in the ground. I was raised in west texas, dad built a set of pens out of pipe and sucker rod when I was 3 years old. That pen and alllllll the others out there are cemented in, and still standin, just like they were when built.

Sounds like you could do some "jogging" over at Haymaker's and help him out. He hasn't been on here for a few days so am assuming he is not home and you would be safe.   :D

Nice set of pens,I added to mine a short while back, caint remeber for sure ,believe it was about 250' square,I run the 2 &3/8 top rail and then dropped down a foot, run sucker rod then cattle panels then sucker rod,was less work and less expense, that pipe and rod has been gettin pricey.
good luck

Im here, take more than a pretty girl runnin naked to make it rain in this desert............Im waiting,be along time for us to recover even after it starts raining, weather folks are sayin the drought will intensify over Tx this year................good luck

I can't believe this I got wet in Navasota Texas today and it was from something falling from the sky. It lasted about 30 sec and the birds was gone. Just kidding it did rain a little but by the time the sale was over it was back to dust. :( Jersey was that because of you running.

Well unlike Texas it's pouring buckets here, right on top of all that snow.Should be a real mud bog by noon.Suppose to rain and snow for the next 3-4 days.Good moisture, but a pain to deal with.

We've had cold mornings (down to -28 C ) and shirtsleeve, sunny afternoons for the last week. Cloudy this morning. Our generator died yesterday morning, we were expecting this and had already bought a replacement. Made the change yesterday afternoon, needed some electrical wire that I didn't have. Got some from a neighbor last night and wired it in at 5 this morning. COFFEE! :D

Hope you get some rain Haymaker, the Almanac says this country is supposed to be dry this summer also.
I guess we'll take what we get and deal with it accordingly.

Is the generator the only power you have?
