More calves.

Today we just had 998, but come fall it will be 3-4 thousand. Today prices was about 4-5 higher on calves. while cows and bulls was 2-3 lower.

Looks comfortable, should double as a theatre. Are all the cattle housed inside? Is that to keep them cool or for otherwise adverse weather?

Most of the ones in Texas have a inside auction area and cover area for the cattle. There is a few in the Pahandle that aren't covered for the cattle and I have never figured that out for the weather they have up there. This sale here has about 10 ac. of covered pens, the max. they can hold is 6,000 head now. The Amarillo Sale is even bigger inside. They can hold about 300-400 people in there. What are the sale like up there?

I will take some photo's next time I am there. Most of the markets here are similar to yours inside except for the comfy stadium seats. There are armchairs for the main buyers at the ring. The ring is bigger, could hold 40 700lb calves. All the stock stays outside (that's why I asked) Max capacity 2500-3000 hd. We have in Alberta several Auctions. I am within two hours of four markets. Closest one is 6 miles away.

I wish we sold in lot loads here. :D We sale one at a time, the auctioneer can sale 300-400 per hr when we are cruising. I laugh when my boss comes to sit with me he can't tell what calf they are selling they are going so fast. I always ask him if he wants to do the market report here. He said no way you just do it.

Just thought I'd lighten the photos up in the pens. Perdy much the same set up as the salebarn we use, other than ours still has wood fences instead of pipe.

What sale barn do you go to? I have travel to most of them in central and northeast Texas. Thanks for lighten them up. I could get the cam. to work right. :-)

He quit coming I hear last saturday. He got into a fight with the owner from what I hear. He sat across from me. I always pick at him when I first start going there about 2 years ago. Here is the market report I do for Navasota.

Sounds like you sit bout where I do when I go LOL

Do you stay for the calves or just for the horses? I always have to work my way to that spot, because it's the best view of the calves so I can grade them before they go on the scale. Does Pete pick on you? I used to listen to him in Nacogdoches every Thursday to. He is a mess.

One at a time? Like if someone brings in a load of calves they all sell one at a time?

Trinity man, up here we use Emory, Sulphur Springs or Winnsboro. Do you work any of those ?

I used to go to Emory on Saturday, but it was a little far from my house. It was around 300 miles round trip for me. They finally got someone to cover it now. How is the Forester doing now? Is Pee Wee better?

Here is the Emory report.

No they will sale them in loads if they group together good (Weight and Color). But not very many people around here have that many really at one time. Then if they do they will sale them on video.
