A week ago we had big cows out (the day before we planned to bring them home. We brought the half that were out home on the Friday, the rest on Saturday and then prevacced on the Sunday (8 way and Pyramid booster).
Dad looking for cows, riding Little Boy.

Putting cows up to the yard through the bales from last year

Today the weather was too nice to hit the Western Stock Growers meeting in town. We would up finding and pre-vaccing our Angus calves off the young bunch.
Looking back for cows that are supposed to be ahead of me...

Dad heading east on Dakota to redirect some traffic (I am in my woolly cap in the shadows.). Dad turns 75 this week.

It is supposed to hit -20C this week, so we thought we better get this bunch done today. It was perfect weather, just like the inside of the refrigerator.

Neat pics. Thanks for sharing.

The hills could pass for Oklahoma but not the temps!!!

That's interesting. When I toured an Oklahoman through several years ago he said exactly the same thing, and then he commented on the Texas Gate signs, "Those are called cattle guards at home".

You and Dad are very fortunate he is still doing what he wants to do.

Gcreek - Ditto on that. I have always been blessed with a dad who taught me a lot and seemed to want to pass on responsibility when I was nearly ready for it. Funny how smart he got after that brief period where he didn't know much.[/quote]

Looks you had an enjoyable day RSL. I like that country and it has never looked better. Last week I was lucky enough to get to tour several herds of cattle in the Dewberry area and yesterday we held our regular WSGA board meeting at the College. Never a shortage of acute issues but we concentrated on what the industry needs to look like past the immediate troubles and how to get there. Your input certainly would have been valuable. Was interviewed on your local TV station, the reporter and camera girl looked barely out of high school. I must be getting old. :?

Was planning to go, but the weather made us change our plans. It is storming this morning, so I am glad we got the last of our vaccinating done. The industry is certainly going to be different in Canada in the next year or two.

I don't know Nicky. We had supper with 40 cattle producers and rode around on a bus all day looking at cattle. I will ask our host if he was there. My name rolodex is tattered. :(
