My view from the back row. Katrina was sitting not too far away to my left. I thought about taking a snapshot of her, but thought the lady
sitting next to me might think it was rude. Katrina, you left before the performance was over. :?

I was at a threshing bee at my sister's father in laws a few years back. There was an old fellow leaning on a real nice three tine pitch fork. I asked him if I could borrow it to pitch some bundles . He said i could but to be careful because he was leaving the fork to his daughter. I didn't know him but my sister told me that he was Eli Barsi's Dad.

I have met Doris Daley years back when we hit some poetry gatherings. She has a niece Brenna that when she was a little girl had a great big voice. A real sweety.

Looks like a fun shindig. I got out to Elko to the gatherin' a few years ago. Great songwriters and singers and poetry. Now my goal is to go back behind the mike with some of my own. How'd the poetry end of things go Soap?

The two performances I saw on Saturday had both music and poetry. The poetry was just as good as the music, and it was a very enjoyable way to spend some time. :-)

As you may recall, Thursday was a very windy day. We started out with intentions of going to the melodrama, and were running a bit late. No worries--once I get on the highway I can make up time pretty rapidly. The car was fishtailing worse than usual on our gravel road, but I attributed it to the wind and the fact that I was going at a pretty good clip. Peach and Sunflower knew it was just my poor driving ability. We arrived at the highway and I headed out ready to make up for lost time. After traveling a couple miles things just didn't seem right. Sure enough, a flat tire was the cause. We had evidently driven over a railroad spike on our gravel road. These spikes came with the gravel which was first used on the old bed of the now abandoned railway. We put on the "doughnut" spare and just came on back home.

Paul Larson is a lot of fun to listen too -- and he's quite the character as well....have enjoyed him every time I've heard him.

i'll be darn....Paul Larson. Paul and I rodeoed together quite a few years ago. he judged alot of rodeos and also roped calves. he's a good guy. i ran into him in wal-mart a few years back, haven't seen him since. still looks like he did 15 years ago.
