Looks like the snow has caught up with ya! How'd the tour go?

It was a nice tour but the weather didn't cooperate very well. At least the wind didn't blow too hard. We got to see four well-run cattle operations. A noon break was a welcome time to warm up and eat a great dinner at the Littleburg school. It is always fun to see and visit with people that you only have opportunity to hob-nob with on rare occasions. My dad has been to all nineteen of the ranch tours in that many years. They have never had to cancel one yet on account of the weather, even though they are always in late January. It is a fun way to break the monotony of winter.

Glad to see you got the snow I sent you :D . It sure has been a nice couple of days without the wind. Your tour looked to be well attended, that's great to see an interest in agriculture in the community.

Hope your camera is okay, it's so used to taking pictures of black cattle you may have ruined it. :D

That snow will look good in the liquid form, it has been looking to dry in your country for spring grass in my opinion.

Are you having more ringworm in your cattle this winter than normal? Our calves and bred heifers are loaded with it.

Thanks again for the tour.

Good pics,we're you one of the featured ranches?

No, we were part of the tour back in 1994. It goes to a different part of the Sandhills each year. It is always interesting to check out new ways of basically doing the same thing--raising cattle. Everyone has their own unique style of ranching.

I can't recall ever having ringworm on our ranch before. We gave these bred heifers injectable Dectomax back in September and a product called Clean-up about three weeks ago. The heifers did have ringworm last year at the place thirty miles from here where they spent the winter. Maybe that is why they are having it again now.
