These are those cows were were talking about they are all 1/2 Scottish Highlander and simmental or charlaios or whatever else. They are all bred Black Angus and the calves are of all different colrs.I will use a pair of Red Angus Bulls on them hopefully the color will straighten out better next year.

This Hereford belongs to the shorthorn in the background she's a 13 year old cow and raise's some pretty good calves.I AI'ed her to a Horned hereford bull hopeing for a bull calf.I am going to keep him and use him on some straight black cows hopefully it will make for some good cows in about 4 or 5 years. It's good to have a plan

I should have taken pictures of the mud it's knee deep and deeper in spots and of course I have to haul hay through it to feed. But I wont complain we had the same mud last year then I complained and it quit raining and stayed that way until august.

Denny: Not trying to be to nosey but what is the sire of the Shorthorn's calf? Looks like the calves are growing well.

The sire is in the Genex AI Stud he's not in the book but is online

his name is MCR PPF Robins Domino 245ET

The Hereford is 2 weeks old weighed 85#s at birth and seems to be growing fast.

Thanks so much for sharing. You cattle, in general, look to be a good looking, easy keeping set of females, including the Highlander crosses. I have heard the Highlander breed is the most genetically disposed to produce tender beef of all breeds. I don't want to start a breed war, just relaying what one researcher told me. Have you had any of their beef Denny? In comparision to other breed types would you say this is true?

Again, thank you. I enjoyed the trip through your cows! Keep the pictures coming. I honestly thought maybe you were posting some more pig pictures!

Cheers---

TTB

The other part of the cros on those cows seemed to take a lot of the hair off them eh? No where near as shaggy as the highlands up north of Bozeman that I saw..

Any time you need some pig pictures let me know or maybe you need a pig in your easter basket  how big and what color.

I've never had any to eat my uncle had been selling quite a bit of grass finished to repeat customers so someone likes it.

The cross that takes the most hair off is a limosene but pretty much any cross gets rid of a bunch.
