A Good Day

We must be under the same weather system George. We are getting steady rain here this AM and the snow is almost gone. The cows are wet and this miserable weather just melts the condition off of them.

Don't like. :(

Screaming Banshee of a day out there.

Don't think I can feed for a while. Maybe drop some bales back the coulee for some but it wouldn't do much good to try and put feed in the bunk. :?

I had better go string a twine from the house to the barn.

We had one of those yesterday. Fortunately everything here and at the ranch fared well because I was off hosting a meeting. Nice today, -17 with no wind and 8 inches of snow. Everything went back out to work. Take your handheld GPS with you so we can send out the troops if the string breaks.

Same way here as over to Big Muddys! :( Windy and snowing with more on the way. Cows are fed and fire in the woodstove feels pretty great. But i have no idea what i am going to do all day. Being inside for very long makes me crazy.

You mean MORE crazy? :D :D

Just right there at your computer and think of ways to ridicule Gcreek.

It did look like a great day! I find the management stuff like you taking 50 head from here and putting them there and knowing to feed these this and those that, a neat part of running a herd. :D Thanks for sharing!

I wonder if this is a pretty big storm cell?

AND the 'weatherman' was darn close to target on at least the start time, or maybe in another time zone. It started here about 10:30-11:00AM, MDT. Some five hours later, we have several inches of snow and 24% (after overnight of about 35-40" ). Wind is less than forecast, and maybe 4-6"inches snow so far, judging by what's on the deck benches. Pretty light and fluffy looking, from indoors. Guess we need the moisture, but sure don't need it too deep right now!!!

Hang tight mrj--- the high winds didn't hit us until 12-15 hours into the storm.... The snow quit here about 4PM- but the winds are still howling and this fluffy snow is blowing everywhere....Temp is dropping- down to 4 now...Weather folks say the winds should die down after midnight...
Tomorrow we will see what needs to be dug out..

Low last night was +54F and due to get into the mid +60sF today with about 1" of rain this afternoon but down to the +20sF tonight with a high of +36F and snow forcast for tomorrow.

This has deffinently been a different weather season so far.
