JAYTON — When Billy George Drennan was a kid he had a specific desire. He wanted to be wagon boss of the Pitchfork Ranch. He went on to become the youngest wagon boss ever there, and then hold that position for three decades.
"I started out at the bottom of the line and worked my way up to wagon boss and foreman of the Pitchforks," Drennan said. "I served 31 years."
Born in 1929, Drennan was raised near Dickens on a 320-acre farm. There were 10 children. His parents separated when Drennan was six or seven years old. One of his older brothers, Coy, was 20 years older and basically raised him. https://www.facebook.com/LivestockWeekly
