After a few good rains this spring, we now have enjoyed a pleasant two weeks of sunny, hot weather. That has allowed good progress in getting the first cut hay off.
Although it's fairly early, we finished baling today and now have to haul the bales in under cover. What a pleasure it is to bale and store hay that is so green in colour that you almost need sunglasses on when working with it! O.K., that might be stretching it a bit!
Now we need rain again to get things perking with all the heat we have had. Our light ground shows drought pretty quick.
I keep saying that "this is going to be my last year of making hay", but I don't seem to know how to quit.
