We have had just a little snow over the last couple days. Last night the power went out at about 9pm, and started flickering back on around 10 am, and finally came on for good again about 1pm. Thank god for wood stoves ;)

Here's what she is like outside. Not too cold though, only about -5C

Man, that looks miserable. We have had very nice weather by contrast sitting around -10C for a few days/nights now and only an inch of new snow with no wind.
Apart from a miserable 3 weeks in late December we have actually had a really easy winter with the warm November and now coasted almost through January with pleasant weather. Long may it continue :D

Today was clean out day. We had banks as high as 10'. We blew, shovelled and pushed snow.

Cows, impatiently waiting while the blower cleared a path for me in the truck to travel.

The worst was probably this feed bunk. Now, just what is the best way to clean this one out??

Anyone feel like shovelling?

In the end, we pulled the feeder panels out and blew the snow away.

Valleyhills, yes, we are in the South, only about 30 miles N of the border. We got about a foot of snow I would say, Cypress Hills got almost 2'.

We haven't had too bad of a winter here either, Grassfarmer. And as difficult as this snow is to deal with, I'm glad we've got it. Should fill some dugouts and the creek in the spring.

Good drifts. Glad it has cleared up a bit. I wonder if that rig would be a good unit to blow the straw up with.
