Decided to start putting up the light poles on my roping arena. Weather subsided for a few hours to allow me to get 3 of the 4 up.

one pole up.

Robin, would'nt it be easier to get the fixture set and wiring down to ground level before settin the poles ?
Unless you are gonna run triplex exposed between poles ?
good luck

we thought about that, but the way our ground holds so much moisture, we cant just set the poles. all of these poles are 4 ft in the ground with at least 6 inches of concrete on each side. so the concrete has to set before we can add weight to it. my neighbor also has a manlift that i can use anytime so adding the lights and wiring will not be a problem.

man, i wish i was closer, i'd come and run the chute for ya.

we can always use a chute man. we've been practicing bulldoggin at a buddy's house but his pen is too narrow to team rope in. i love watching some of my friends who think they are all big and badazz get their butts kicked by a steer.

There is the possibility of holding an Evangelist Revival and having a convert climb a pole.

I got a nice little corente bull at the market today.it was a shame to let him go to the kill plant. He's never been roped, tri colored with good horns and about 500 lbs. 20 cent a lb. I got him in the cowpen and I'm goin to let the lady I rent my heifers to, use him to rope. He needs to loose about 2 ins of horn on each side and about 100 lbs run off him. Robin what kind of lights r u goin to run? Looks like a big arena.

i got some stadium lights from the local HS football field. they still work, the school just changed them out. nothing better than a free set of lights. this arena is 140x240 so it pretty good sized. ive always been told, you can be fast in a small arena, if you can be smooth in a big arena. im selling 2 of my bulls to some guys i know fro 650 a bull. not too bad of an ROI with these.

southern hospitality bud. if you cant drink with us, we will make fun of you until you do. its nothing against you, its just how we are. youd have a long way to go to be the "ol drunk" around us. around here, its the old men you have to watch out for, the ones my age have to take care of them.
