this isn't the cat the dogs were on, it went 5 miles got into Cyclone canyon, got the dogs onto this younger cat which crossed open country only to be treed a 1/4 miles from the ranch house where Teny finally got her first cat.

It is illegal to use dogs to hunt cougars here. So we have plenty of cats. The closest neighbor's Border Collies put one up a tree in the neighbors yard. A week or two later a chukar hunter shot one along the road about a mile passed my place. A couple days later I shot one sitting under a juniper 50 yards from the end of my driveway. A week later one ran across the road in front of a neighbor about half a mile upstream from my house. I wish we could turn the hounds loose.

Sounds like you need to (turn the hounds loose!)

That's a great picture Jody.

My dog"Bear"and his brother lol cornered this raccoon up in our north pasture in a tank full of rushes we are trying to drain. I hoped in a lick tub then over into the tank. It was like walking on a woven mat on water. I thumped the raccoon to be sure it was dead and hauled it out into the pasture.

My old dog Bear killed two raccoons in the back yard. Killed this one clear back against the back fence. I hadn't hauled it off and she drug it down by the barn a good 300 feet away. Can't have dead coons laying around in her yard. She wouldn't chase the deer. But if a deer came into her yard that was a different deal. She wasn't going to share her yard with any critters.
