I picked out this fabric about 12 years ago with a lot of ambition and good intentions. I never could figure a way to put it together and even asked a few good sewers their opinion. Then H's cousin made us all beautiful quilts for Christmas, and I knew I had found the talent needed. She took the fabric home and after about 5 days, returned this:

A closer look! Even though we raise angus cattle, H's grandparents and ancestors raised good herefords. Someday a few will roam the pasture and not just the bed spred.

Beautiful quilt Mrs H. My sister is an avid quilter, I have an idea what work goes into one.

My FIL always says how times have changed as women used to save scraps to make quilts fron and now they buy new material and cut it up in little pieces.

I was stuck in a hotel in Moose Jaw with the annual Sask. Quilting association's convention what a bunch of crazy ladies lol.

There was a recent case not too far away, where the judge went through and put appropriate ribbons on quilts. Some of the more serious quilters didn't approve of the selections, and changed the ribbons so their own were in the top spots. Crime doesn't pay, and these two ladies were barred for the next several years from exhibiting their quilts. The prize money for the premiums were under five dollars. Go figure.

Priorities. :???: :?

Soap, sounds to me like those quilter ladies were attempting some kind of covert cover-up.   :P

Quilters remind me of this serious lady no one wants to mess with. http://talk.newagtalk.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=167778&posts=12#M1206714

Mrs. H I think there is an opportunity in front of you here. Maybe if we could find you some material of Pee Wee Herman riding a bike or some other more appropriate pajama matching cloth you could auction that one to one of several Hereford folks on here. 8) Win, win as H would disappear into the motif like camouflage and our Hereford friends could sleep soundly safely under the cover of their favorite cattle. :-)

That is a beautiful quilt and it doesn't matter what type of cattle are on it!!! Wow... Enjoy.....

I was fueling up the big dog at mission coming back from Rapid region two. And a indian lady asked me if I was interested in buying a quilt. She said that it was the end of tourist season and she had one quilt left to sell. She wanted fifty dollars for the quilt.. She also said that it was't a star quilt, but was a big heavy quilt.. It was absolutely beautiful... It is red and white with a heavy blanket lining.. I didn't dicker with her.. I just gave her the fifty she asked... I love that quilt... Roscoe bought me one another time he was hauling ear corn for my birthday and I wore it out... I will get a picture of the quilt when I can....
