I was looking through some old photos tonight and picked a few that some might like to see. My apologies for the glare from the ceiling light.

The first three were taken when I guided for Moose Lake Lodge about 50 air miles north of Anahim Lake between 1987 and 1993.

Five of these guys were from Des Moines Iowa. It was my year to be lucky, I filled out the two little ones in the back and the one to the right.

This guy was from Springfield Missouri, first hour, first evening, first call. Never had an easier hunt.

Four guides on the right and two of the hunters with moose taken on a ten day hunt. The hunters were an older fellow and his son from Penn. Guides were Gary Lee, yours truly, Johnny Alphonse, and Justin Blackwell the outfitters son and now partner.

Hunter from Spokane Wash. Picture taken about two miles from home, I was guiding for Rainbow Mtn. Outfitters whose area surrounds our ranch.

Good friends from Vancouver who celebrated their 30th year of hunting from our ranch last fall. Photo taken about 92 or 93.

Skinny kitty I beat to death with a peice of pipe as it had our dog Ace in the night.

Took a little while but I finally taught this grizzly to sit.

Great pictures but who snuck up behind the bear to get that last picture?

The guy that traps for the Problem Wildlife Program. :D

Mr Cowkiller was tied up with a foot snare.

Now we get the "Rest of the Story"

You ever been as nervous as a whore in church?

That was me wondering if a 3/16 cable was going to hold 650 lbs of p!$$ed grizzly if he jumped.

That was his problem, although after having more than a few altercations with bear and cougars over the years and having about 1/3 of his skull being made out of steel from a falling accident that placed his head under a tree, I doubt that a little thing like a 300 Win Mag would faze him much. :D

GREAT PICTURES! While guiding can be lots of work and hard on family life, it sure is fun! The Grizz picture is priceless. It brought to mind a line from Jerimiah Johnson........... There ya go pilgram, Skin that un and I'll get ya another!

Thanks for sharing gcreek. I always thought there must be another side to you besides 'grouchy old rancher out in the sticks". I think "grouchy guide and hunter out in the sticks" rounds out your character quite nicely! :D
