There will never be too many of this kind of wolf.
Counting the 5 the trappers took out last fall this makes 8 off the home place in five months.

Awwwwwwww! Did the big mean puppy threaten your flourishing goat ranching operation?  For your sake, I hope you didn't shoot him til after he destroyed your fledgling herd of goat! I'd let him eat the goat, told him thanks and sent him away with a couple of t-bones. But you shot him! Guess we all now have unequivable, irrefutable proof that you are a goat herder!

 H that is funny.

Dam, he is one big puppy Gc.

My vet told me that the darker colored ones usually have a domestic dog breed in their background ,hence their not being scared of nothing . Seems to be true in coyotes anyways , the black faced ones are the trouble makers around here .

I got to pet a female wolf last summer that was the same color. Even had the matching red spot.

Saw a young wolf a mile from home the day before yesterday. Of course he was gone by the time I got a rifle. I'll have to get in the habit of locking my truck when I'm in town 'cause that rifle is staying on the seat. He wasn't much bigger than a coyote with over sized feet and head and rough looking (mange).
Lobos can be bad news.
Thats not a particularily big wolf for your country is it Gcreek? The best thing is he'll never get any bigger!

"He" was actually a she. Shot it at breakfast this morning when it was in the act of chasing the dogs off the bait cow.

For Big Swede's sake I stood on the bathroom scale and weighed it. It was not carrying any extra flesh and backfat was not exsistant but she weighed 85 lbs, no shink but what leaked out. I would say average for a mature wolf for this area. I killed a big male 20 years back that tipped the scale at 142 lbs.

FH, this wolf went to our feed dealer. Yanuck wants a real black coloured one and Mr. FH can have one anytime there is one available. It is not cheap to get a rug done but it is easily shipped across with a permit. He could come and get his own too.

H, why would I feed a $175.00 goat to a worthless wolf? :P :D

Good for you for whittling away at the population gcreek. Nice colour too. We've had quite a few wandering around but so far nothing is chewing on the stock.

First, after us, Big Swede. :P :D

Maybe gcreek will add 'auctioneer' to his many talents. :D

Herewegotherewhaddayawannagiveforim?

Years ago a friend and I were set up to go to the Billings auctioneer school.
He went and has never done anything with it. I got married.

I would have to check but in round figures it is around $1000 to get a head mount rug done up. The export permit is about $35.00.
The actual wolf is worthless to me.

There is a place for wolves, everyone should have a pack hanging on the wall.
