Yeah, we all have painted houses, barns, and even some here so old they whitewashed fences with Tom Sawyer, but have you painted a Picasso, that is the question? If house painting is the topic, then I refer you to my story about The Dog and the Salesman. I was a good house painter, but certainly no expert on dog breeds. Be that as it may, I did once paint a Picasso.
Back in my younger days, a western artist was giving a masterclass in western painting. I wasn't good enough to qualify, but some friends got me in.
Being the comedian I am, I told him I could paint a western Picasso. He laughed. Under his direction I painted this and felt it was needing a lot of finishing touches, when he grabbed my arm and restrained me from putting on the final touches. He declared it a finished masterpiece and yes, a work with a Picasso vibe. The rest of the class laughed at me because they saw a poorly painted angry horse. I will never know if he really thought it was finished and a "masterpiece" or he was just sick of dealing with me and my attempts at comedy. I suspect the later is the truth.
