ACTION ITEM!
Your support is needed to pass H.R. 4239 and S. 1926, the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act of 2005!
After much effort by many groups over several years, we now have eco-terrorism bills in both Houses of Congress! Congratulations! But these bills won't pass by themselves - they need your support!
Call the main Capitol Hill switchboard in DC at 202-224-3121 and ask to speak to your Congressman and Senator's offices (legislative aides are the key people when you get connected) and urge co-sponsorship of H.R. 4239 and S. 1926, bills which will improve Federal laws to protect you from being targeted by eco-terrorists.
Let's all stand together and start the New Year with a HUGE list of supporters on these bills! Add your name, company, or organization by sending us a quick email noting your support to [email protected] and/or log in your support at Cong. Petri's office at 202-225-2476 so your name gets added to the official list of supporters.)
H.R. 4239 and S. 1926 (introduced by Cong. Petri and Senator Inhofe) give better tools to law enforcement to help catch eco-terrorists and give stronger sentences to lawbreakers who target you over ownership and/or use of animals or your property. H.R. 4239 and S.1926 protect fishermen, ranchers, retailers, researchers, labs, farms, animal owners and caretakers, processing plants, property owners and anyone who does business with a company that finds itself in the cross hairs of eco-terrorists.
And, since eco-terrorists are a small but mobile and destructive group, putting more of them in jail will help others besides animal enterprises and animal owners. This Act will ultimately benefit miners, loggers, recreationists, everyone! Once passed, the Act will protect us and our property at work AND at home and is designed to come to our aid when we are targeted by eco-terrorists!
But these bills won't pass without your overwhelming support. If you haven't been a target of eco-terrorism yet, you will be - so you need to sign on in support of H.R. 4239 and S. 1926 as soon as possible!
Let's send a message to eco-terrorists that Americans reject them and their terrorist tactics and will fight back --- LEGALLY!!!
