Actions speak louder than words.
obama says he is a Christian but in a survey poll 18% believe that he is a muslim, up from 11% in 2009. And this poll was taken before the latest mosque menaguerie!
Maybe because obama cancelled the National Day of Prayer citing Franklin Graham as too controversial? (like the Ground 0 mosque isn't?)
And wasn't there something about obama praying with 5000 muslims instead?
Maybe because he said the muslim morning call to prayer was " the sweetest sound on earth"?
Maybe studing the koran in Indonesia?
I won't even get into the rev. wright deal.

What do you think??
Not based on words but actions-
The Bible says "you will know a tree by it's fruit"

What do I think? I think he is a Muslim and I've thought it for a
long time now. The things he does just serves to reinforce my belief.

How could anyone who is aware of what is going on, not believe
he is Muslim.

I also think he is a Socialist, if not a downright Communist.

NYT and WaPo circle the wagons10:28 AM 08/19/2010

Obama's in trouble. Whether it's the economy or the oil spill or the Ground Zero Caring Sharing Togetherness Mosque or whatever else that's gone wrong for him, his approval ratings are drooping like a 49-year-old man's pecs. More and more Americans are wondering why they voted for this guy. More and more Americans are getting fed up with the way things are going. More and more Americans are flipping their calendars to November 2010 and 2012 and marking the dates.

You'll never guess whose fault that is!

New York Times:

In Defining Obama, Misperceptions Stick

Americans need only stand in line at the grocery checkout counter to glimpse the conspiracy theories percolating about President Obama. "Birthplace Cover-Up," screams the current issue of the racy tabloid Globe. "Obama's Secret Life Exposed!"

The article claims, without proof, that Mr. Obama uses a phony Social Security number as "part of an elaborate scheme to conceal that he is not a natural-born U.S. citizen…"
Have any other U.S. presidents ever appeared in tabloids? Did the New York Times do stories about it when those presidents' approval ratings fell?

The NYT then cites a poll saying that 18 percent of Americans think Obama's a Muslim. Which is ridiculous, because we all know he spent 20 years in a church where he didn't hear a single thing the preacher said.

Personally, I don't think Obama has any real religious beliefs at all, because that would entail believing in a power higher than himself. But some people think he does, and apparently that explains why his popularity is fading. Although if that's the case, it doesn't explain how he got elected in the first place. But these are questions for people who aren't as smart as the staff of the New York Times.

Here's the lede of WaPo's take on the "You Are Too Dumb to Appreciate Obama" story:

The number of Americans who believe — wrongly — that President Obama is a Muslim has increased significantly since his inauguration and now account for nearly 20 percent of the nation's population.

The key there is the "wrongly." Gotta set it apart with em dashes, even! You can almost taste the indignation. I'm surprised they didn't use bold, italics, and all caps as well. "WRONGLY!!"

I don't blame the news industry for trying to protect their considerable emotional investment in Obama. I understand their pain, their frustration with the common folk and their rustic notions.

The question is… how is it supposed to sell newspapers?

P.S. Matt Welch: "Wait, the Economy Is Lousy and Obama Is Unpopular? How Could That Ever Be?"

P.P.S. Chuck Todd: "The big irony of this story: President Obama is more religious than Reagan or H.W. Bush ever was; in fact, he gets Bible verses sent to his blackberry EVERY DAY." Excellent point. I'll bet those two didn't even HAVE Blackberries!

P.P.P.S. The Associated Press does its best to help.

P.P.P.P.S. After the 2004 election, some lefties branded the U.S. "Jesusland." Now they're scrambling to deny rumors that Obama doesn't love Jesus. Odd, yes?

But the differences between Carter and Obama just can't be ignored:

(1) Carter's initial mistep, by most accounts, was ignoring the views and needs of congressional Democrats. Obama, by most accounts, has gone (if anything) overboard in consulting with and deferring to congressional Democrats.

(2) Carter was elected by a coalition that began to disappear the very day after the 1976 elections, thanks to his dependence on very conservative southern Democrats who supported him as a regional gesture but who truly belonged to, and soon migrated towards, the GOP. The main problem with Obama's 2008 coalition is that it was disproportionately composed of demographic groups who rarely participate that much in midterm elections. But they aren't going away in future presidential elections, and show no present signs of moving back towards the GOP.

(3) Despite his occasional efforts to place himself "above politics," Jimmy Carter actually ran a 1980 general election campaign for a second term that was highly partisan and populist. Indeed, it was so abrasive that it helped Ronald Reagan, the veteran of nearly twenty years of right-wing politics, come across as a unifying figure. It's not clear yet how Obama is going to present himself in 2012, but he certainly still has every approach available,
source... the democratic strategist org

"Barack Obama, like Jimmy Carter before him, has proven himself overwhelmed by the job, not up to the task, and looking for answers in all the wrong places. Let's hope the nation can survive him."

Whatever the reason, Barack Obama gave the most depressing Oval Office speech since Jimmy Carter's malaise speech. He didn't just embrace defeat, he wore it on his suit as a substitute for an argyle sweater.

more and more are comparing Obama to Carter

as wheat prices rise, and Russian wheat burns up.. will Obama halt US/international grain sales to Russia to punish them for helping Iran ????

You want our country to be ruled by religious laws then? What does it matter what he is if he follows the rule of law?

Sharia law is what the gov't is based oon in many places of the world....religous law?

Heaven forbid...you want baptist law? Lutheran law....espiscopal law?

People pitched a fit when he did go to church....and now pitch a fit that he don't.

WHAT DO YOU WANT? MAKE UP YOUR MIND.....

I'd say it's a major pain in the ass for him to attend church and I bet the cost to tax payers for security would rival the cost any of his vacations.....

Gosh I didn't know he didn't take security with him on vacations, or that he flew to church,
Must be cheap then to take 8 and counting vacations not having to take security with him
