We have fan bothe case and John Deere. The Deere is very simple and parts on old ones are the same as new ones. On a Deere look at the depth wheels that adjust how deep the disks go in. Grab them and lift up and down make sure they are not froze up from not greasing. Also measure the diameter of the disks themselves. I think they recommend replacing if they are less than 14.5 inches but don't quote me ill have to get back to you on that. It will tell you in the book.
