AH.............The smell of Rain!

NOW YOUR TEASING ME

It was so hot and dry here today I had a grasshopper jump in the cab for a ride. He told me to turn on the air conditioner and shut the windows. When I didn't he took a swig from the canteen he had slung over his shoulder and jumped back out the window.

From the sounds I hear, and the big black clouds I see, I think we're in for some more rain!!!!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope ya get some too, Big Muddy!!!!!!!!!!! Your story about the grasshopper had me LOL!!!!!!!!!

While I like the smell of a fresh rainfall, I could stand a little bit of time off from it. You all want some of mine? I had to put personal flotation devices on my calves that are out on pasture, and I welded pontoons to my haybine today. Anyone know where I can buy an airboat with 540 RPM PTO?

Rod

Rod, send some of that rain this way, southwest of Saskatoon. Our hay crops are in dire need. If it don't rain soon, the alfalfa won't stretch up and there won't be much of a first cut. Right now, most of it's below my knees. On the plus side, though, I should be able to make good time cutting and I won't plug the haybine! :-)

They hay barley has started to head out... Right time for it to do it, wrong tonnage on the fields.. Haven't had rain really here since the week before mothers day.. Could really do with an inch or two, pastures are looking like August already.
