I thought I better let everyone know that I am heading for the big island of Hawaii for the next!!! We leave tomorrow and will be back next Thursday.

I'll try to get some nice pictures of the trip, as long as it doesn't rain as much as it is forcasted.

Hopefully I can get some pictures of the Parker Ranch, from the road at least. Maybe someone can give me a little more of a tour than the one the "tourists" get.

Anyways, everyone take care and I will chat when we get back.

Where are you flying out of? Seattle is kinda tough to get to from some directions,

Enjoy,

Gee rub it.

-2 here this morning. Almost like Hawaii. :x

You are living in the temperate climates Big Muddy-- Mrs. Greg turned the thermostat down to -10 here right now.......

It's about 47 here( that's 47 ABOVE )....I'm freezing....and I'm soooooooooooo frickin' jealous of sic'em !!!!!!

Gonna feel like -42 here tonite with the windchill.......... just got in from bedding up the cows and its a cool one out there...

Well, we finally made it back from our trip. Kind of hard to trade the temps in the 80's with sun for the 20's and clouds.

Did quite a few different things...snorkled, drank mai tai's, tried to go to a lua, but got rained out, toured part of the Parker Ranch.

I'll get some pictures once my wife goes through them, I think there are about 500 or so.

LOL, we aren't going to milder climates this year, but I promised myself February of each year...

Welp, you're back and the ranch is still standing, LOL.... Hope it was a blast,

We honeymooned there in '02 and loved every minute of it, We said we would be back in 5 yrs but that came and went, LOL..... We rented a car and drove all the way around the island on one day. I would have to say that was my favorite thing we did the week that we were there, I was surprised to see a few dairy cattle and thought I would see a few more beef cattle than I did.The volcano and the black sand on the southern tip were very interesting too. We were lucky enough to see whales one morning while we enjoyed our $75 breakfast.

Our favorite thing was flying over the red and hot flowing lava you could see through big holes in cooled lava. And if you get homesick for snow you can go up their mountain this time of year and see some white stuff.

On our plane tour we got to see some lava flows and the snow on top of Mona Loa, or however you spell it. The water falls were pretty neat, but in the plane we couldn't get real close to them.

The island was real diverse. From coffee plantations to produce farms. I wouldn't mind having that grass they have on the northern area where the majority of the ranches are. I was surprised to learn there are like 300 ranches there. I am sure most are small, but thats quite a few for the island.
