sorry to hear that, hopefully you will get some rain sooner rather than later. Seems like it's feast or famine with moisture. Things have been dry around here since the early part of May when we had over 3.5 inches in a span of 4 days.

We are also getting very dry north of Tyler. Have had less than an inch since April 1. Hay isn't growing and pastures are short, I'm getting pretty concerned. Have already sold a few heifers I hadn't planned to. If we don't get some rain in next 2 - 3 weeks I'll be in trouble.

Yup,next 2 or 3 weeks we better get h2o,or we can forget it for another year, sometimes I feel like sellin out and movin to town.
good luck

Darn it, Haymaker, here I was feeling good about your getting moisture.
I have a deal for you, if you don't have any hay to put up...you could
come here and help us.
The pay is bad, but the food's good. :P

Dont be surprised if you see me,ready to bale, last time I was in Wyoming I was around Gillette hunting.
good luck

I love the Hill Country, about as beautiful as any place can be, but it sure can go from wet plenty to dry and parched in short order. Hope you get the rain you need, HayMaker.

When Justin and Faster Horses get tired of you there is a tractor here to ride in. We start about the time they are finished.

Hope you get some timely rain Haymaker. :)

Thanks folks for the kind words,a man has just gotta be tough to weather these droughts, tell myself that regularly that dont make it much easier but it is reality.
Just seems like the weather patterns have changed to me ,could be decades if ever before we get average annual precip. here, who knows just might rain tonite, but the weather folks are sayin rain stays north of us again, going on 5 years.
These droughts have away of retiring ole men and waiting for youthful optimism to replace them.
Thanks everyone for the invites, maybe someday I'll get the travelin bug,buy me a nice 3 stall with living quaters and head north, that way I can keep the sleepin in the barn to a minimum :D
good luck

Well summer is here!

Weekend forecast:

Fri 107
Sat 108
Sun 108

Lovely!

A little wind might be welcome, maybe even a lot of wind.

Around here it'll be hot and dry out of the SW at 25-35. I call it the BLOWTORCH!

LOL.

At least the pastures and tanks are looking good going into summer.

The wind is one of the problems, blows off the mexican desert,20/30 mph and it is dry,10 to 15% humidity its like adding oxygen to acetylene.
No believe I will pass on the wind.
good luck
