Grinding the last of the swamp hay yesterday. I baled it in September off a meadow that had'nt been hayed or burned in at least 5 years. Not exactly high quality.

It's a by-product from ethanol production. Basically it's dried distillars grain that has'nt been dried. It test about the same as wet distillars grain but flows when fresh as it's 180 degrees coming out of the plant. It is the fine solid so thats another reason it will flow. The beauty of the product is it's free first and formost. Second it's ease to feed it does'nt freeze very much and it's does'nt spoil like wet cake. As you can see the brown layer in the skidloader bucket is the top crust after 2 months. If you have a tank it stores for quite awhile. I put it in cut off plastic barrels and with an inch of water on top it will keep all year.
