Ready to trail steer calves and their mothers to summer pasture a few miles south

Holding the herd for them to pair up before we let them out the gate

About ready for the march

The Kid had to trade hats with me because he couldn't keep his hat on in the wind.

Now I look like the flunky of the outfit.

Going across the Bear Creek bridge

We must have gotten this boy up too early.

The Kosmo Kid's saddle. The only reason he has the deep roper stirrups is because the stirrup leathers are not long enough otherwise.

Pushing the cattle across a pasture

Coming down off the hills

A pot in a pickle. Fortunately it was pulled up on the road without tipping over. The driver had pulled to the side of this country road to clean out the truck, and the soft sand shifted and sucked the outfit into this sideways position. A good neighbor used their tractor to pull it out. I was just an innocent bystander who happened along, while taking a few bulls out to put with yearling heifers.

I see the Kid is still waiting for that stampede string for graduation.

Maybe some twine would work in the meantime?
