We were pleasantly surprised this morning with another half inch of rain, after receiving four tenths the day before. Things are definitely looking up. Taking advantage of a non-haying day, I decided to gather and sell some more bulls.

After loading those two, we went to another pasture to gather eight more.

This is a neighbor's pasture where our cattle our summering. They were just put into this lush pasture yesterday, and the grass is taller than stirrup high.

After loading the bulls, I called the sale barn to see if they still had time to sell my ten bulls. They did. I had a several minute wait on road construction.

Had an opportunity while sitting in the pickup to capture this action shot of Sandhusker. He was feeling his oats while taking his noon break.

Even though the saddle is quite old, the cinch is practically brand new.

Those bulls in the "stringing along" picture look to still be in pretty good flesh . That back bull looks like a meat wagon. Thanks for taking time to take all the pictures. I really enjoy them.

If he's a "practicing" banker....why is he on the computer and Rancher's so much?

It's a reasonable question................... :D

Your country looks to be in good shape soapweed, lots better than this dessert like place called the Tx hill country.
Thanks for the picture story...............good luck

WOW, Soap. There are some really good-looking bulls there.
you didn't say what they brought and I am curious. Bulls
have been selling really good so I expect yours did as well.
Is that a yearling bull along the fence? He looks really mature,
so I was just wondering.

Also, I bet that saddle has a dandy ground seat. Let us know
how you like it. Looks to have a 'place to sit' that will be nice
and comfy.

I'm on the computer all day, it takes me a couple seconds to check here and a minute to post something. Some guys take a coffee break in the lunch room, some go have a smoke, I come here and do my Christian duty to combat liberalism.

They are all yearling bulls. Of the ten that were sold yesterday, seven weighed 1078# and brought $91.25 per cwt, and the other three weighed 1110# and brought 90.25 per cwt. The ten averaged 1088 @ 90.94, or $989.47 per head. It cost $22.84 per head to sell them at the sale barn.
