By the dawn's early light

Guardian of the gate

Assembling cows to vaccinate later in the day

A drag fork comes in handy

To roll out the rest of a bale of hay

Vaccinating cows

Shooting as they go down the chute

Sorting out heavies late in the day

Taking the rest of the cows back to pasture

I ride a big tall horse.

Do you have low humidity there? When it's that cold here we freeze - when it's hot we smother! Anytime it's that cold here and I would ride my feet turned to ice.

Yes, it is a "dry" cold. Yesterday, the temperature got up to at least 38 degrees, and today it is supposed to be nicer yet. We are still waiting for our first calf, but that is okay.

Me neither Mike. But I have been on hand to run the loader when butcher steers were dis-assembled! :wink:

That's a hell of a gate. I don't take the time to put that many stays in but it sure makes for a nice gate.
