Good color. How old is he and how big (weight). The screen is not a great place to critique but from here I would be fine if he lined up with one of my RA cows.

per he is coming 4 and weighed 1921 last spring when we semen tested him. We have used him on some straight red angus cows with real good results.

I really like this bull! You can tell he hasnt been fed up and he is in his working clothes. We used to run red gelb. bulls from Beastrom and Cunningham and damn were those good cattle. This bull is just another example of how the Gelbvieh breed screwed up by selecting for black color only, years ago. Some of the best Gelbviehs we ever had were red and horned!

Well I guess I'll be the critic, since you asked. :wink: He's good, although I don't care for his tailset and would like to see a little more length from hook to pin. His feet are in the straw so obviously can't comment there, but I think he could be a tad deeper and then I'd love him.

A mentioned, other angles would be helpful for a full appraisal, but those are not likely high on your priority list right now with all the snow.

Not a big Gelbvieh fan, but this bull might just convince someone. His phenotype is plenty good enough. What kind of disposition does he tend to throw?

A Gelbvieh deeper than him would not be a Gelbvieh. He has to rank in the top percentile of the breed for depth of body. Good looking bull.
