I don't have a video of this...but I will before long. Tank has an issue that Lil Lilly just can't seem to get him past/over. He's been on barrels maybe six months. 10 year old gelding.
Ok here's what he does. When she tries to slow work, he doesn't wanna trot. He'll walk fine. But at a trot, or slow lope about two stride he leaps forward. He's just wantin to run. But he needs to learn that he hasta go the speed she wants, not what he wants. Ok when he does this, she's been turnin him into a circle and workin him hard for a lil bit, then go back and try it again. He just keeps doin it. Any ideas on what she can do with him to break him from doin this? Sometimes he'll do it between 1st and 2nd if she tries to hold him back. It's like, in his mind, he thinks he's a finished barrel horse and doesn't wanna do slow work. He just wants to go go go all the time. He's fine at a walk....other than you can tell he really would rather be runnin.
