Pres Trump was presented with the #1 made hat of this 250 hat series. 100X pure beaver and called 1000X because of the embellishments. It was good to see the president honoring the rodeo champions at the white house. Pre orders were taken for these hats at the NRF in December. Not sure if any are left, but a bit spendy for my budget. I would have to remove all the tacky embellishments. Just a rattlesnake band would work for me. Not a white hat fan, but I could dirty it up easy. It needs some blood and manure on it, then beat against a fence post until it looks authentic.

If you decide to authenticate it with llama spit, just turn your head, because that spit really stings the eyes. 🤣 A safer choice is calf snot, available at branding time. Chicken 💩 can be added any time you use it to carry in manure coated eggs due to nest changing negligence. Just push down the crown from the outside for carrying dirty eggs. Crown stain can be very impressive and authenticate any cowboy hat.

You don't need tricks to make a hat look used. Just wear it and try to keep it looking clean. That new look will wear off soon enough. Then you have to buy a new one to wear to social events.
True, but the shame of wearing a new clean hat, made the wearer an object for ridicule in my family. Don't show up at branding time in a clean hat, not in my family.

The story goes back to a great uncle, my grandmas youngest brother, that always like to look clean. He could hold his own working cattle or other ranch work, but he always liked to start out with clean Levi's, ironed shirt, polished boots, and clean hat.

Some blamed it on him being in WW 1 and military inspection, but my grandma said he was a bit prissy in her opinion. He showed up at a branding in a new hat, which due to about 70% bulls being born that year, had the testicle bucket full, before all the bull calves, had met the knife.

My grandma, grabbed his new light tan hat, right off his head, and used it for holding the overflow testicles. After she had emptied it, she accidentally dropped his hat in calf scours. Even though she said, "Woopsie Daisy." no one believes it was an accident that she then stomped it with her boot and ground it around a bit to get some dirt on it.

Since, that day, it became a custom for anyone with an unstained or new hat to leave it in their pickup. Have an old hat to wear and hang on the hat rack. During my teens, it was a family ranch custom for any cousin getting a new hat, to throw a hat dirtying party. One of my favorite parties was one, where the youngest cousin was showing off how many hot dogs he could eat. He won the all time hat dirtying award by puking in his new hat.

I remembered that one morning, going to work when I felt sick. Cleaning up a pickup dash, was not my favorite thing to do, so I reflected on my cousins hat initiation, and used my hat. It is a lot less work cleaning a hat than a pickup interior.

If someone treated my hat that way, new or other wise. If he were male he would be laying on his back with blood pouring out of his nose. Female would be safe from that. But I would be 2 inches off her nose with me explaining in no uncertain term to her my thoughts.
