There's an outfit called digsville.com that allows you to trade houses for a certain amount of time with people all over the world. For example a family in Scotland would come over and use our place for a holiday while we went there and used theres. Some really nice places. I had a brainwave if I could find a place in Farmington, New Mexico during the finals somebody could switch the desert for a week or so of crystal clear lakes and good fishing etc. I'll let you know how I make out.

Just make sure you are with a legitimate outfit that checks out their clientel...... I have heard of several that have done this- several to England and Scotland like you said- and some to Australia and New Zealand, which would be my preferred choices...

When I lived at Big Sky 40 years ago- one outfit offered a "swap" and the folks that owned houses/condiminiums at Big Sky could swap with those that had ones in Florida or California (or wherever)...One gets a break from the cold and beach living - the other got a cheap ski vacation....

I'd live in a tent before I'd let a total stranger spend a week in my bed.No way would I do that just spend the money and buy a 5th wheel camper thats what we did.

I guess I'm just to priviate - - - - I like to sleep in my own bed - - - -I bought a 40' Dutch Star ( my 4th motor home ) and love it. I got the 275hp Cummins and get 15 MPG with out a trailer and 12 MPG if I pull the blazer. My brother-in-law bought a similar unit with a 375 Cat and gets about 1/2 the milage that I get.

I guess it would be hard to take it to europe but I'm not done exploring North America yet.

I also love the journey as much as the destination.

Also I agree I do not want anyone else in my home!

I think its cool.I'd have no problam at all letting Corey and the boys stay in my home if we were gone. Only problam with that would be I'd miss the company of those great kids.

Greg and I have talked about a trip to Scotland for a long time now,I believe I'll check out the website

I agree here. I've got too many things that I'd not want broken, messed with or taken.....

I'd rather spend the $2K than $5K on home repair later.

But, if you willing....good luck and post pics of their house and what they have hidden in their bathroom drawers etc.

I'm kind of like Will Rogers 'Strangers are just friends I haven't met yet'. The last thing I want to do is drag a fifth wheel trailer all the place-I'd rather tent it than do that lol. Geez Kol were u planning on swapping houses with a street gang lol.

No I'd not do it under ANY conditions.

I just don't want strangers in my house when I'm not here.

To each his own...but I'd spend the $2K to get rooms.
