Does anybody have experience or an opinion on a Preifert model 91 Headgate?

It is supposed to be able to be used as either an Automatic or Manual. I'm looking to getr a Headgate and/or Squeeze Chute soon and wanted opininions on this one, good or bad.

Thanks all..............

I have one as does most of the people I help work cattle. I really like it for everything except the self catch. It takes a few extra seconds to set the self catch. Headgate-wise it works great for all cattle horned or not, big or small with no adjustments. One right after another with no problems, no making one go out and reversing the gate to catch the next one. I helped a guy today run 350 calves through, do the fall vaccination, pour them, implant them and dehorn any that were missed as calves. Took in the neighborhood of 3 hours to do. He has caught at least 25,000 head and only has had to replace one roller. There is no other headgate on the market I would consider unless I was putting it in for a calving pen.

We have two Priefert chutes, and like them very much. I also appreciate the customer care given by the company when we had a problem with our first one. They bent over backwards to do the right thing, and they have my respect because of it. Because we had good success with our first Priefert squeeze chute, when the need came to have another one in a different location, we got another Priefert because they had treated us so well.

The only thing I wish they would change on their chutes is that foot pedal squeeze. It is just the right height that I always knock the heck out of my shins. Other than that they are not that bad, I still like powder rivers better but thats just because I duck better than watch where I am walking.

I would have probably bought a Priefert squeeze chute but I had to ahve controls on the right hand side and they didn't offer such a chute. So I wound up buying a Stampede Steel squeeze which I like very much.
