Seed? :lol:. We have beel cleaning seed all day, we are just finishing up the wheat, and starting peas.

How many of us are anticipating the spring seeind season?

To wet and cold here for any farming yet...We are hauling out manure from the lots.......

I was just shoveling the shellings, chaff, and the kernels that diddnt make the cut around the trailer, if you need an extra shovel, like to have fun when the work is done and will smuggle me across the border, then, sure, Ill do it. lol.

Were planting a pea and oat mixture for hay.Also seeding some alfalfa and useing Barley as the cover crop.

Using Barley or a Hay Barley Denny? We have used Hay Barley for a couple fields cover crop.. works just dandy, better yield than Oats usually and more leaf to stem ratio...

I have thought about using peas and barley a few times the last few years, thought it might increase the protein a bit of the hay.. Going to try Bersem Clover and Hay Barley this year with a little ryegrass tossed in for good measure. Will it work? I don't know but it just might and if it does it will save me a bit of money in the long run..
