For having a grouchy old boss

We branded calves again today.

Sunflower is home on spring break.

The first 27 are branded and are off to reunite with their mommas.

It seems to take a lot of stuff to do the job. Our four-person crew did 135 head today.

Looks like everybody wintered pretty good.

Nice to have such a experienced branding crew.

What happens when you don't get a calf double hocked? Every picture you've ever shown us is that way but you surely miss once in a while don't you? Maybe it isn't a problem with just one leg?

The machine doesn't work with just one leg. Double hocking is a must. If you only get one foot, you don't pull tight. If the rope does come tight on one leg, a member from the audience brings the roper another rope.

With our daughter home, the crew seemed to already be about the right size. We might see if Rena is available for other upcoming brandings

Where's your daughter going to school?

She is attending a Christian college in the southeast.
