We are not quite done haying, but I guess we'll take whatever moisture comes our way. Hope the hail doesn't materialize for anyone!

I've got quite a little hay put up yet but I'll take the moisture, its good for the pastures. By the radar image a thunderstorm will be here in about 1/2 hour. As long as its just rain, on July 8 I had a hailstorm take about 5000 acres of grass, some of it looks like it was mowed with nothing over 2" tall. The hail beat the sagebrush to just stalks. There was lot of rain with it so it took out a lot of fence. I hadn't had a storm like that since 1980 and I hope it is that long again before I see one of those storms.

One of the good things this year, there hasn't been a lightning caused fire in this county yet, it has always rained when there was lightning.

So sorry to hear about the loss from hail. That's a tough one. Taking out that many acres would take out our whole place!
We haven't had fire worries either and for the same reason. Western Montana hasn't been so lucky. I see they are under a red flag alert.
It has been warmer there than it has been here. One day when we were 79, it was 96 at Charlo, Mt (north of Missoula).

We're like you.......we'll ALWAYS take rain over just about anything!

I managed to cut about 120 acres of hay today before the rain and lightning chased me out of the field. Shoulda toughed it out I guess because the sun is shining nicely now :?

I sure hope you folks out west send some east as it is dry here only about 6 tenths in the last month. A lot of hay in this area but pasture conditions have deterriated tremendously corn is pollinating so it would be hard for it to rain too much.

It seems to rain every 48 hours or less around here. I have been tedding the hay twice to get it dry enough to round bale between showers. Need some good weather so I can finish first cutting and start second.

Rain started here the 19th of July. As of this morning, we've had a little over 7.5 inches! And, it's raining right now. WoHoooo. Ponds are full. Life it good. Thank You God. It's been years since we've had a full week of rain. Had 70 acres of feed planted and it was dying. I'd sent off samples to see if it could be grazed. Now, it's greened up and looks great but I am thinking it might head out due to the stress it's been under. It's about 18" high.
