We always have a few but this year they are worse. I went to look at a seed patch I cut a couple years ago. He was saving it again this year but the worms ate it. It looked like it had been napalmed. Nasty. Fence builders were there friday they said and trudging through hip high grass, came back monday and could drop a dime anywere and see it from the road nearly. Anyone else got any?

We had them back in 2001, totaly wiped out grass fields, from what I remember they left the legumes alone. I was working at a large dairy away from home that summer, they were cutting barley silage and the worms guts caused a large buildup on the tractor fendors. Years prior they were so bad in Northern Maine that they caused cars to skid off the road where they were crossing. They were one of the pests we used to scout for in fresh sweet corn in Florida, it's amazing how you won't see anything one day and then the next day you can have a huge hatch. they are only a few milimeters when they hatch.
