I've read that there are more recorded species of birds in Venezuela than the US and Canada combined.

I've added the names of the birds. The only one I'm uncertain of is the ground dove.....there's also a Ruddy Dove and that may be the one pictured. Both occur at my place.

So far I've got about 60 confirmed species though there are many more to ID. The hawks and the hummingbirds are really tough.

Bare-eyed Pigeon, these birds are called White Wings locally and my ranch is named after this bird.

The Burrowing Owl and the Yellow headed Black bird both summer in this area. We get a Gold finch but I think they are different to the ones you have.

That is quite a variety of birds, A friend spent days here on the ranch bird watching and came up with more then would have ever imagined.

Very nice, Whitewing! I have the Caracara out my way and those little, what you call 'Scaled Dove' - we call Inca Dove - are out here a lot.
