Three months prior to September 18th's Thursday night game featuring Kansas State and Auburn, the game has already sold out, becoming K-State's first home sellout this season.

"K-State fans have stepped up again and are on the verge of another sold-out season at Bill Snyder Family Stadium," said Athletics Director John Currie in a statement. "We are closing in on 20 consecutive sellouts and expect to do so before the season begins, and we appreciate our fans' support in making Bill Snyder Family Stadium on gamedays the best environment in the Big 12."

Bill Snyder Family Stadium reports a record 53,811 in attendance in 2000, and with a top-ranked Auburn coming to town, might that record be in jeopardy?

SEC fans aren't used to seeing Thursday night games, and Auburn and K-State will do work in front of the entire country. The Wildcats finished 8-5 last season.

K-State's offense is wide open, much like Auburn's, and this could turn into a track meet-like bout featuring two tempo offenses with great new school and old school head coaches.

Closing in on 20 consecutive sellouts?
53,811 record attendance?
Best environment in the Big 12 on game day?

 ROTFLMFAO!

No jealousy here. KSU has nothing for Huskers to be jealous of, especially when it comes to consecutive sellouts or attendance. It just tickles me as to what passes for "milestones in Manhattan".

Not too shabby. They'll go up as time gets nearer even though it's a nationally televised game.

at one point the big red N on the helmets stood for knowledge.... now it stands for Nobody cares...... NU is irrelevant. fighting for a mid pack finish in a washed up league that offers little more than history to the venue.... a perfect setting for the Nubbers....

Washed up league? Your butt buddies vegasinsider shows 3 schools from the B1G in their top 12 playoff teams, and only one from the Big 12.

If the B1G is "washed up" with 3 teams, what the hell is the Big 12 with only one??? Neverwassers??

Seek professional help to get off the Haterade, Wheathead Boy.

Prognostication smack? Really? Let's agree...well, we're usually stupider for hearing it.

As a Jayhawk, I'm impressed by 20 sell outs. It's a long way up from where ksu was or where Kansas is. Absolutely Nebraska has a huge home field advantage-doesn't take anything away from ksu.

Oh yeah, the rust belt conference has some huge demographic issues. I was glad when Kansas said no thanks in the 80s and hope Kansas never aligns with those socialist bastions. I like the sec, but don't see Kansas at that football level for a long time. I'd like to see Kansas play cheaterama twice a year in hoops.

And the locals in Manhattan will slash your tires free of charge! What a deal!!

Now that I look at the population differences between Lincoln and Manhattan, it is pretty impressive that KSU game spectators are sometimes equal to the population of the whole town.

most of those seats are filled by farmers from western Kansas who have a 4 hour ride to the games, the thing about KSU is it is a group of people who are "salt of the Earth " types..... no matter what Loomix says, the majority of opposing fans get a decent treatment in Manhattan, the rude treatment of the Nubbers, is just and fair, because they are the most arrogant self serving, holier than thou, fans you will ever find... it is a mix of Notre Dame arrogance, USC elitism, SEC expectations, with Mountain West results...... that sums up the self proclaimed greatest fans.

You've learned well from OT how to twist and justify hatred for certain people or things, Jiggsy. Is being a whiny little biatch full time how you really want to go through life?

At least we know where jigs stands. With OT, he's all over the place and stands for nothing. Except himself, that is.

just years of seeing the TRUE husker fan that has me disgusted with all things husker.... the fake persona that ESPN tries to portray out of Lincoln is getting old....

Getting old? So is your constant whining about the Huskers. Win a National Title or two, or sell out 100 consecutive home games, or add on another 60 or 70 Academic All Americans, or have the others sports KSU offers achieve half of what the other sports offered by UNL have, and then you will have a leg to stand on for your whining. Penis envy must be the state pastime in Kansas.

On football Saturdays, the crowd in Memorial Stadium becomes the third largest city in the state.

Jiggsy, don't slur all Huskers by some, even then the worst Huskers fan is better than most mizzou and Baylor fans.

Not proud to mention it but it was at KU that 3huskers cars got slashed. But it's ok to blame the purple. My purple friends pass out and pee their pants usually before they can commit any bad acts like tire slashing.

Realistically, KSU attendance is fantastic given their distance to any city. NU is smackdab in the Omaha Lincoln metro, and Omaha doesn't offer an nfl alternative.

I think mizzou is going to lose much of their KC influence. That's why they're whining about Kansas not playing them. KSU has a KC connection that will only grow with mizzou down in sec company. Hell no Kansas shouldn't play mizzou in KC.
